Bienvenue to Maison McCauley

Hello and thank you for visiting Maison McCauley!

I started this blog after our family made a cross country move to Chicago. I left my career as an attorney after we moved in order to spend more time with my two young daughters. The change gave me the opportunity to pursue my love of writing about food and home. I am at my happiest when I am lost in a creative project or when am sharing what I love with others.

Erma Bombeck once said that when she reached the end of her life and was before God she would like to “not have a single bit of talent left” because she used everything she was given. This blog is my outlet and way to share my talents and every bit of what I truly love with others. My recipes and writing have appeared in Life in the Woodlands Magazine, Pioneer Woman’s Tasty Kitchen and I am the food columnist for The Hinsdalean Newspaper. So join me here at Maison McCauley as I dish on the latest recipes and projects from my home.

    1. Iris,
How wonderful to hear from you! I think of you often when I am baking. I still remember your Indiana Jones cake for my brother which taught me that cake can more than just your traditional rounds. It is definitely an art and jut so much fun. Thanks for inspiring me!

  2. Hi Amy!
I stumbled upon your recipe for biscuits which I have never been able to make good successful ones in my 48 years of marriage. Probably a good thing or my husband and I would be as big as pumpkins. I would like to try this biscuit recipe when our family gets together for Easter.
Also, looking down the list I saw Strawberry Scones which I have made before and love. I live in Central Florida in a rural area, I have a strong English heritage and follow the Royals. I have had many delicious meals that originate from England.
Lastly, I love working in my yard, gardening, and love growing vegetables and flowers. It’s my therapy to just get out and enjoy the goodness of God. I look forward to your emails and what you are working on and cooking next. Thank you for your Blog!

    1. Linda,

Thank you for your sweet note! I am so glad that you have enjoyed my recipes. I agree, gardening is one of my favorite ways to experience God’s beauty and goodness. I am looking forward to spring flowers which will hopefully come soon here in Chicago. Have a wonderful Easter!
      Amy
